The Beach Family of Switzerland, California and New Jersy took part in a three day and two night canoe trip on the St Croix River guided by Maine Guide Tammi Matula with Veteran East Grand Outdoor Education students assisting. Other Maine wilderness trips include the Allagash and Penobscot Rivers

Another guided Maine canoe trip with Dave Conley and Canoe the Wild. This was a four day and three night canoe trip. A guided trip on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway is a great place to view wildlife and brush up on your canoeing and camping skills. Other trips that offer great scenery and easy whitewater include the St. Croix River near Vanceboro Maine. Choose the Bonaventure River in Quebec for more adventuresome whitewater and great wilderness scenery.

Maine Guide Dave Conley recently guided a canoe trip for Chip and Lani Cochrane of Allagash Canoe Trips. Our three day trip was into Lobster Lake, West Branch of the Penobscot watershed.  We camped at Ogden South for two nights, hiked up Lobster Mtn., fished, paddled and viewed wildlife. Manisse and grandson Joey of San Francisco enjoy a recent four day St. Croix River trip with Canoe the Wild. The canoe trip was part of an extended vacation in Maine including a day cruise out of Boothbay Habor for a lobster bake on Cabbage Island and viewing puffins, four day Windjammer cruise out of Rockland, Moose Safari in Greenville and a float plane fly in, northern Maine to fish for Brook Trout. East Grand Veteran Outdoor Education student Chelsea Winiarski took part as an assistant.

The Nature Conservancy recently paddled the Baskahegan Stream to see the work first hand East Grand students along with outdoor instructor Dave Conley of Canoe the Wild have done with constructing low impact campsites. TNC is exploring potential stream based recreational day trip opportunities with the Butler initiative in the tributaries of the East Branch of the Penobscot River.
