This was Richard’s 3rd outing in two seasons to view and photograph moose in Maine. We have seen bull moose all three times. Our 2nd outing produced over 15 moose sightings with several large bull moose responding to the call and coming into close range….a wildlife photographer’s dream!  Why not plan a wildlife photography outing with Maine guide Dave Conley. Canoe trips are fully outfitted and guided, are a great way to photograph moose and can be quite comfortable.

“As an amateur photographer living in Maine I contacted Dave and asked him for help in locating and calling in some large bulls during the fall rut. Well that he did, several bulls responded to him and some came as close as 15 yards! It was a thrill for me and something that I won’t soon forget. We got several photographs and I will be utilizing his services again.”

Richard hired me for a three day camera moose hunt during the rut. These pictures were taken on that three day photo hunt. Most were taken by Richard but I took a few of these as well! While I really enjoy guiding moose hunts. it is just as thrilling to interact with these magnificent animals and capture the moments with a camera. We were careful not to call these moose in an area I would be guiding hunts the following week as we didn’t want to wise them up to the call. For more pictures and information on hunting moose with a rifle, muzzle loader, bow or camera, visit my website at Canoe the Wild. Guided Maine Canoe trips during the summer can also produce good moose viewing opportunities on Maine’s Allagash Wilderness Waterway.
